This project is located in the historic Jewish neighborhood of Rome, with the primary goal of creating a library that archives and celebrates the rich historical significance of the area. The design incorporates two plazas, maximizing the use of space and encouraging public interaction. These plazas are divided by a portico, an Italian architectural element used to organize the layout, enhance circulation, and serve as a venue for various community events that the library would host.
A key design approach was inspired by the importance of natural light. The window designs were influenced by the iconic windows of Cino Zucchi in the Quartiere Residenziale Ex Junghans in Venice, allowing ample light to flow into the library's spaces. This combination of traditional Roman architecture with modern influences reflects Rome’s unique layering of architectural styles, contributing to the project's cultural and functional relevance.
